Hello!
Jaana here, I’m the mama behind Car Seat Crew. Let‘s start at the beginning of my car seat journey; how and why I‘m so passionate about spreading the importance of securing our little loves while we are on the roads.
Growing up I knew, ‘seatbelts save lives.’ Everybody knew it! But as a first time mama (10 years ago now!) I was clueless when the time came to fit my baby capsule. I didn’t know where to get help, seek advice or be guided in the right direction. So I had to figure it out. I wanted to learn and be confident that I could 100% know each time I put my son in the car that he was as safe as he could be. His life was in my hands. It was up to me. So I did just that.
In 2016, I opened my family day care doors. Now not just one child to worry about but lots of other children too. These families put their trust in me to educate, nurture and keep their children safe; at daycare and any excursions including on the roads. So just like with my own child, I was meticulous, every single car ride. Correct adjustments, belt connected and harness untwisted, no slack in the tethers & every buckle clicked - for each & every child. No exceptions. It was my responsibility, just as it is yours for your own children.
Over the years I’ve witnessed many friends, family and acquaintances be flippant about the installations of their own child’s car seats and how they would secure their children. I never understood why they were willing to risk their own child’s life every car ride. Indifferent and uneducated; some still to this day. I share indirectly as much knowledge as I can highlighting the importance of correct installation and use, hoping for the best.
As a fully Accredited Type 1 Fitter, I’m knowledgeable in child restraints and the
laws that determine safety. I’m here for you; to help you, offer advice and educate you. Our children are just so precious and they rely on us to protect them. As a mama, let me tell you I know that feeling. As an educator, I know the responsibility. And as a professional, I know the importance.
